Centres of excellence
Our Benefit Managers and Medical Underwriting Team are developing their expertise and expanding their knowledge of key medical conditions in order to provide specialist return to work pathways for employees suffering from common work related conditions.
Areas currently being studied are:
- musculoskeletal;
- cardiovascular/cerebrovascular;
- oncological;
- neurological; and
- psychological.
Our Medical Underwriting Team are also attending the Legal & General Underwriting Academy set up at the University of Cardiff specifically to create teams of highly skilled medical underwriting professionals.
The course includes eight modules taking place over five weeks and covering a range of specialist medical areas.
As a result of this expertise we now operate Centres of excellence together with our specialist suppliers. These provide a pathway with early access to independent assessments as well as bespoke treatment for absent staff. So far we have developed bulletins on our Centres of excellence in Cancer, Stress and Musculoskeletal disorders. More will be developed soon.
