Mortgage Payment Protection Insurance (MPPI) cannot be taken out in all cases, below are the eligibility criteria for this cover. Please check that your customer meets the relevant criteria for the policy options selected.

The monthly benefits from this policy must be used to protect the customer’s mortgage payment for a property they live in permanently in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man.

Your customer is only eligible for an MPPI policy if they:

1. Have the right to live in and be a permanent resident of the UK, Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.
2. Are aged between 18 and 64 years old.
3. Are working for at least 16 hours per week within the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man; or working 16 hours per week outside the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man for either:
   • The Armed Forces, Civil Service; or
   • A company registered in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man and are assigned to work within the European Union.
4. Have been working for a period of 6 consecutive months immediately before the policy start date; and
5. Have not been notified by their employer that they may lose their job.

For joint policies, joint policyholders must both meet the above requirements.

For the policy to remain in force, the customer must continue to meet the requirements 1-3 listed above.
