Past Pension Products.

We have a range of pension products that are no longer available for new customers. We have provided some information below, but if you are giving advice to a client who already holds one of these products, you may need to contact us to find out more.

Please remember, the value of your clients' pension plans can fall as well as rise. Once money is invested it cannot be accessed until your client takes their benefits.

Portfolio Plus Pension (Pre 31 December 2012)
  • Open for additional contributions and transfer payments into existing plans.
  • No minimum increase to regular contributions but the minimum level to start making regular contributions is £200 (gross) a month, or £2,400 (gross) a year into insured funds.
  • Minimum single contribution of £1,000 (gross).
  • Minimum transfer value of £1,000 (different minimums apply for transfers from pension pots already used for income drawdown).
  • A wide choice of insured funds with an option allowing self investment and income drawdown (see the Self Investment and Income Drawdown Option Brochure). Please refer to the Terms Sheet for more information on charges and required conditions for these options.

  • Our Stakeholder product is now only sold to clients direct. Existing plans are open for additional contributions and transfer payments.

Personal Investment Pension Plan (PIPP)
These contracts were sold between December 1977 and May 1985 (PIPP MK1) and June 1985 and January 1986 (PIPP MK1.5). Also known as Section 226 or Section 620 contracts.

Self Employed Plan (SEP)
These contracts were sold between February 1986 and 30 June 1988. Also known as Section 226 or Section 620 contracts.

Pension Savings Plan (FSAVC)

Legal & General's AVC plan, called the Pension Savings Plan, was designed for people in pensionable employment who wanted to make contributions to provide further retirement benefits for themselves and/or their dependants. The plan offered a wide choice of investment linked funds and a With Profits fund. The plan was only available for employees in pensionable employment whose employer operated an 'exempt approved' plan recognised under ICTA 1988. These plans closed to new business in April 2006.

Personal Retirement Plan (PRP)
An annually renewable, With Profits Retirement Annuity Contract (RAC), sold between 1972 and 1987.
