Terminal Illness Cover (TIC).
Terminal Illness Cover pays out the lump sum or monthly benefit (depending on the plan chosen) if the life assured becomes terminally ill and eligible to claim.
- TIC is included automatically at no extra cost with all our term, FPIP and CIC plans.
- We’ll pay out if the client is diagnosed with a terminal illness and has less than 12 months to live.
- We won’t pay out if the policy has less than 18 months to run, or if the life assured is ineligible to claim.
- For joint life policies, TIC applies to both lives but we’ll only pay out once when the first life assured is diagnosed as suffering from a terminal illness.
- If decreasing cover is chosen, then the TIC cover will also decrease in line with the life cover over the policy term.
- If a one year term is chosen the TIC will not be available.
- Once a TIC claim has been paid, no further benefit will be payable and the plan will end.
- If after a claim is paid, the client survives for longer than 12 months, we won't ask for any payment made to be paid back to us.
