Meet the Investments Helpdesk Team at Legal & General

Colin Batchelor ACII

Colin has many years experience working in financial services.  The majority of Colin’s career (29 years) was spent at NPI (later AMP NPI) where he was responsible for setting up and running the industry leading Technical Advisory Service (TAS).  Following AMP’s decision to leave the UK in late 2003, Colin joined Legal & General where he was asked to lead the process to establish a Pensions Technical Service.  More recently, Colin has also assumed responsibility for the Legal & General Investment Help desk. 

Gareth Dee

Gareth began his career in financial services with The Co-operative Insurance Society in 1999 within its pension review department. After a brief period with third-party pension scheme administrators Paymaster, Gareth joined Legal & General in January 2001. Gareth moved onto the Investment Helpdesk in November 2004 and took over in the team manager position in October 2007. Gareth holds a Bsc Econ Economics from the University of Wales, Cardiff and CF1-5.

Liz Sanderson

Liz began her financial services career with James Hay, where she gained two years SIPP experience. Soon after joining the IFA Contact Centre at Legal & General in 2005, Liz went on to help with the set up and launch of the Investor Portfolio Service Team. Liz joined the Investment Helpdesk in 2008, where her responsibilities include producing the weekly publication 'Around the World in 80 Seconds' for Legal & General advisers and sales staff.

Terry Drew

Terry joined the Customer Contact Centre at Legal & General in 2006, utilising the customer service skills and experience gained whilst working for EDF, NTL and in retail sales previously. Terry joined the Investment Helpdesk in 2007; his responsibilities within the team include assisting with the training of new team members along with controlling the approval of sales’ presentations for delivery to advisers.

Leanne Giles

Leanne started her financial career working with Legal & General in 2006. She joined the company as part of the Dedicated Service Teams providing multi-product support to key IFA accounts and quickly progressed to the IFA Sales Team, providing a specialist escalation service for Legal & General's sales team dealing with queries of a more complex nature. Leanne joined the Investment Help Desk in 2008 where she writes the monthly Investment Focus newsletter, which is distributed to over 7,000 advisers.
