Meet the Pensions Technical Team at Legal & General

Colin Batchelor ACII

Colin has many years experience working in financial services.  The majority of Colin’s career (29 years) was spent at NPI (later AMP NPI) where he was responsible for setting up and running the industry leading Technical Advisory Service (TAS).  Following AMP’s decision to leave the UK in late 2003, Colin joined Legal & General where he was asked to lead the process to establish a Pensions Technical Service.  More recently, Colin has also assumed responsibility for the Legal & General Investment Help desk. 

Tim Kehoe ACII DipPFS

Tim worked in many administrative roles in financial services before taking up a pensions technical role in 1999 with NPI’s Technical Advisory Service. Since joining Legal & General in 2003, Tim has played a key role in the Pension Technical team.

Derek Houghton

Derek has worked within the insurance industry since 1985, specialising in pensions since 1996. Prior to joining Pensions Technical in 2007, Derek had spent nearly ten years working within Legal & General's SSAS department.

Nicola Smith ACII

Nicola has worked at Legal & General for 17 years. Between 1997 and 2001, she assisted the trustees with the administration of Legal & General's own staff final salary schemes and during this time Nicola was awarded a CII national prize for achieving the highest result in the 'Pensions Planning, Taxation and Administration' exam.  For the past eight years, she has worked in Pensions Technical Services.
