Children's Critical Illness Cover

One of the most rewarding times in life is becoming a parent. It's also one of the most responsible, and making sure your family is protected if anything happens to you is critical.

It's now commonplace for parents to have arranged enough life insurance and critical illness cover for themselves, but there's another benefit to critical illness cover - Legal & General automatically include children's cover at no extra cost.

So if you have a critical illness cover policy and your child is diagnosed with a specific critical illness and is eligible to claim, a lump sum could be paid. Children are not covered for pre-existing conditions or congenital conditions.

The lump sum pay out is limited to a fixed amount or proportion of the original sum assured, whichever is lowest, and the policy doesn't end so the cover for yourself continues unaffected.

At a very difficult time, this lump sum can give parents the flexibility to take time off work or even pay for private treatment; allowing them to focus on the most important thing: looking after their loved ones.
