Welcome to my first newsletter for regional brokers.
I’ve now been with Legal and General as Head of Regional Broker for six months and it seems to have flown by. It’s always nerve-wracking when you move companies but I feel like I’m part of the L&G family now and I’m really enjoying the opportunity to forge strong relationships with my colleagues across the business.
Whilst new to Legal and General, I’m no stranger to regional brokers having spent the first twelve years of my career working in high street brokers before moving over to the insurer world where amongst a mix of roles, most recently I was leading a Regional Broker relationship team. I’ve learnt a lot from regional brokers over the years including what they need from their key insurers, so I feel that I have a good understanding of what we need to do to support you in your business.
I’m passionate about developing our share of your business and with over £600m of Household GWP placed through Regional brokers it’s clear that Legal and General is punching well below its weight. It’s fair to say that we’ve not been proactive in focussing our attention on you and I’m going to be working with my L&G colleagues to put that right and deliver a Household proposition that fits the needs of you and your customers.
First, we need to start talking to you more so that we can understand what challenges we can support you with and what you need from us. So you can expect to hear from us more regularly as we develop our proposition and our broker relationship team.
And we’ll try to help you gain new customers and keep your current ones as we focus on bringing you our regional targeted, more competitive pricing for your best risks through our investment in Insurer Hosted Pricing. We’ll be rolling this out on CDL over the next few weeks and developing across other software houses over the coming months.
Equally as important is making sure that our Household products meet the needs of your customers so we’ll also be reviewing our products in the future.
What’s struck me most as I’ve talked to brokers over the past few months is your desire to place more business with Legal and General because you and your customers like Legal and General and want to do business with us.
