Summary
Saving money can often mean cutting back on quality – but that’s not the case with our buildings and contents insurance. We aim to give you quality cover and you can save up to 43% off our standard buildings and contents rates:
- 20% discount for three or more years claim free insurance
- up to 16% discount when you insure buildings and contents together on the same policy
- 15% online discount – applies to the first year’s premium only
As discounts are applied consecutively to our standard rates, your maximum discount will be 43%.
From the big things like fire, flood and theft, right down to your freezer contents and your downloaded music files, you can rest assured it’s covered with our building and contents insurance.
We also work hard to provide excellent customer service. If the unexpected happens, our friendly and helpful staff at our UK call centres aim to deal with your claim as efficiently as possible.
What’s covered by our building and contents insurance?

Where a limit is not shown above, the limit will be your sum insured which will be on your policy schedule.
What isn’t covered by our building and contents insurance?
Please note that home insurance is designed to cover certain unforeseen events and doesn’t cover everything. For example, our policy does not cover the following:
- The first £100 of each claim (or for escape of water claims, the first £250 and in the case of subsidence, heave or landslip, the first £1,000).
- Storm or flood damage to fences, gates and hedges.
- Routine maintenance or wear and tear.
- Money stolen from your home unless it was entered by force.
- Accidental damage to portable items like video cameras and hand held computer games, unless you’ve taken out contents extended accidental damage or personal possessions cover.
- If your home has been empty for more than 60 consecutive days, we won’t cover loss or damage from malicious acts, vandalism, theft, water or oil leaks, breakage of glass or sanitaryware or frost damage to any plumbed in domestic water or heating installation.
