Is there an additional cost for paying by direct debit?

You can pay in 10 direct debit instalments. The credit charge for direct debit is 5.5% and the APR is 12.49%.

What happens if I have to make a claim?

In the event that you have to make a claim, call our claims department on 0800 027 5333 as soon as reasonably possible.

For emergencies outside of 9.30am - 5.30pm then please call our 24 hours emergency helpline on 0800 294 2188.

If the claim is for family legal protection then please contact DAS Legal Expenses Insurance Company Limited (DAS) quoting your policy number.

What happens if I want to make changes to my policy once I have taken it out?

If you would like to make an adjustment to your policy please call us on 0800 136 464 between the hours of 9.30am and 5.30pm. Enhanced team agents are trained to handle your calls immediately and your new documentation will be sent out to your address. 

Do you recognise my no claims discount?

Any no claims discount will be included in your Enhanced quote. 

Can I be covered immediately?

Once you have received a quote in writing you can be covered straight away.

How long are quotes valid for?

All quotes are valid for 30 days. 

How do I renew my policy?

When your policy comes up for renewal, we will send out the renewal documentation approximately 30 days (but a minimum of 21 days) before your renewal is due. All you have to do is call the number on the renewal documentation and confirm acceptance of the quote you are given. If you haven't received your documentation then please call 0800 136 464.

What happens if I change my mind?

If you change your mind please call the number as shown on your Enhanced Home Insurance policy booklet or call 0800 136 464. If this is after the 15 day cooling off period there may be a charge for the period of time that the property has been insured by us.

What are the key telephone numbers to be aware of?

As part of our Home Insurance Enhanced policy, you can call our helplines for assistance. These are available between 9.30am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday except for the Emergency Claim helpline which is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

What happens if I am moving home?

In the event that you move home then please call 0800 136 464 to inform us of your new details and we will review your quote in line with your revised requirements. 

Is there a 'cooling off' period?
If this cover does not meet your requirements, please call us on 0800 136 464 within 15 days of the cover starting. We will refund all premiums paid within 30 days from the date we receive the notice of cancellation from you, except where a claim has been made.
What do I do if my details change?

Who is my insurer?

Legal & General are working in partnership with Aqueduct Underwriting Limited. Aqueduct Underwriting Limited issues this insurance cover which is provided by insurers at Lloyd's of London: Ascot and Canopius except for family legal protection where cover is provided by DAS Legal Expenses Insurance Company Limited. 

What is my minimum excess?

Your minimum excess is £250 on a Home Insurance Enhanced policy. However, you can increase your policy excess which should help reduce your premium. 

Does family legal protection come as standard?

Family legal protection comes as standard as part of the Home Insurance Enhanced product.
