A unit trust is an investment fund that:

An easy way to invest in shares. Index-tracker unit trusts follow the performance of a particular stock market and some industry sectors - in the UK and abroad - with lower management fees than our actively managed funds.
A good way to invest in a particular sector or region. Investments are chosen by professional fund managers who constantly monitor companies, economic conditions and markets to meet the fund's objectives.
