Legal & General and Nationwide Building Society Strategic Distribution Agreement


On Friday 1 February 2008 Nationwide Building Society transferred the ownership of its subsidiaries Nationwide Life and Nationwide Unit Trust Managers to Legal & General Assurance Society Ltd. They then became subsidiaries of Legal & General PLC. From this date Legal & General took over responsibility for Nationwide Life protection plans and Nationwide Unit Trust Managers investment plans.

The Investment fund names have changed (see table below) but there are no changes to investment fund managers.

Nationwide High Income FundL&G (N) High Income Trust
Nationwide Target Return FundL&G (N) Target Return Trust
Nationwide Balanced FundL&G (N) Balanced Trust
Nationwide Tracker FundL&G (N) Tracker Trust
Nationwide UK Growth FundL&G (N) UK Growth Trust

The name of the three pension funds have also changed:

Nationwide Tracker Pension FundL&G (N) Tracker Pension Fund
Nationwide Corporate Bond Pension FundL&G (N) Corporate Bond Pension Fund
Nationwide Cash Pension FundL&G (N) Cash Pension Fund

There have also been changes of names to the underlying investments:

Nationwide Tracker FundL&G (N) Tracker Trust
Nationwide High Income FundL&G (N) High Income Trust
Gartmore Cash FundGartmore Cash Fund (no change)
