What information will I need when making a claim?

For critical illness and terminal illness cover:

  • Policy number
  • Details of the illness and diagnosis

Before making a critical illness claim please check your original policy document for details of the illnesses covered.

For life insurance:

  • Policy number
  • Date of death

When making a life insurance claim there are different aspects that our claims team need to look at and each claim is treated individually. Your claims handler will explain everything to you in detail if you ever come to make a claim.

What happens next?

For critical illness and terminal illness claims:

A member of the claims team will send you a blank claim form for you to complete and return back with your original policy document. They will then write to your GP and specialist to confirm the diagnosis, when the diagnosis is confirmed the payment will be sent to the bank account nominated on your claim form.

For terminal illness claims, the diagnosis must state that you have 12 or less months to live and the policy must have at least 18 months left to the expiry or maturity date.
