Throughout the year, we sponsor and exhibit at many major industry events. The events we get involved in include conferences and exhibitions, along with the sponsorship of various industry award ceremonies.

BRITISH MORTGAGE AWARDS 2012
The British Mortgage Awards took place on Tuesday 3 July at the Westminster Park Plaza Hotel in London. A key event in the industry calendar, it recognises the extraordinary achievements of the most deserving individuals in the UK mortgage industry.

We're delighted to announce that after being shortlisted multiple times for this award, Steve Goodall from LGSS won Business Leader of the Year award in the Surveyor category.

In the seven years since the British Mortgage Awards were introduced, the industry has undergone huge changes. These awards acknowledge that in this time the brightest and best people working in the field of mortgages have seized the opportunities which change inevitably creates, and demonstrated their excellence in the intermediary sector.  Winners of these awards were nominated and then judged by a prestigious judging panel.

We're also very proud that a number of individuals from our Network firms were also winners on the night.

MORTGAGE CLUB AWARDS 2012
The awards lunch was held at The Guildhall, located in the heart of the city with guest speaker Austin Healey, rugby international and Strictly Come Dancing star.

Nationwide for Intermediaries won four awards making it top lender at our Awards. The lender won best lender for mainstream products, best for remortgage products, best lender for its contribution to first-time buyers and NFI business development manager Paul Simmons won BDM of the year.

Voted for by Mortgage Club members through an independent survey run by NMG Group, the awards recognise lender activity over the last 12 months.

The winning lenders are:

• Best Lender for Product Innovation - Woolwich
• Best Lender for Mainstream Products - Purchase - Nationwide for Intermediaries
• Best Lender for Mainstream Products - Re-mortgage - Nationwide for Intermediaries
• Best Lender for Large Loans - Halifax
• Best Lender for Buy to Let Products - The Mortgage Works
• Best Lender for their contribution to First Time Buyers - Nationwide for Intermediaries
• Best Lender for Service - Halifax
• Best Small Building Society/Regional Lender - Leeds Building Society

Paul Simmons from Nationwide for Intermediaries was named business development manager of the Year.

In addition to the lender awards, mortgage advice firms were also rewarded for their performance in the mortgage market during the last year.

• Top GI Producer - Mortgage Advice Bureau
• Top AR for growth in Mortgage Business - Kingsgate Law Limited
• Top Sole tie DA for growth in Mortgage Business - John Charcol

• Top overall Mortgage Business - Mortgage Advice Bureau
• Network Business Champion - Finance Planning Group

MORTGAGE STRATEGY AWARDS 2012

A WINNING NIGHT FOR LEGAL & GENERAL!

The Mortgage Strategy Awards 2012 were held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane. In their 11th year, these awards have become recognised as the industry ‘Oscars’ and we’re delighted to have won the following awards:

• Best Mortgage Distributor – Mortgage Club
• Best General Insurance (GI) Provider

We were also pleased to be runners up for;

• Best Network, and
• Best Mortgage Protection Provider

This event presents a great opportunity to recognise the best in the mortgage industry and reward the brokers, lenders and distributors who are finding innovative ways to beat the current economic challenges.
