When would you consider a second charge loan?

Perhaps you have a customer that is already on a competitive low mortgage rate? Perhaps your client is on an interest only mortgage or is tied in with heavy redemption penalties?

It may be that they need funds quickly with no upfront fees to pay and are happy to use the equity in their home. It may be that their credit status has changed for the worse or they have simply become self-employed and are finding it difficult to raise finance.

Second charge loans are useful when a client is looking to borrow a large sum of money over a longer term. Remember too that there are limited ERC’s, some with no redemption penalties even on fixed products.

A second charge loan can be used for almost any legal purpose such as home improvements and debt consolidation as well as paying off expensive bridging loans, Tax Bills, deposits and purchase of BTL properties, second homes and school fees, the list is almost endless. Overpayments Fluent have lenders who will allow customers to overpay towards loans or settle in full with no early repayments charges, which will allow them to save on interest.
