Teachers Extend Maximum Loan Term

22 September 2017

Teachers Building Society have increased their mortgage term from 35 to 40 years to help buyers with affordability.

At Teachers, they have a long history of helping people step onto the property ladder but increasing house prices has made obtaining a mortgage with affordable monthly payments difficult.

The increase in their mortgage term to 40 years will help buyers with monthly mortgage payments and follows feedback from intermediaries working in the new build sector that a 40 year mortgage term will help with affordability for buyers purchasing via the Help to Buy equity loan scheme.

More Information:

  • Buyers looking to take up the 40 year term have access to the full range of mortgages from Teachers Building Society subject to lending criteria
  • They offer a straightforward online application process and assess each case individually - they do not rely on automated scorecard decisions.
