Important changes to the way you request information.

To make the process of requesting individual member pension benefit information smoother we are introducing a standard Legal & General letter of authority (PDF: 3MB)  where single requests for individual member information are required.

This will enable us to process requests faster and more efficiently on your behalf by:

  • Capturing the required information first time
  • Standardising the format to reduce our processing time
  • Identifying missing information faster
  • Allowing us to add a servicing agent to a member's policy

Please Note:

  • There are no changes to the way servicing agents access information
  • There are no changes to how you can obtain Group or Scheme level information
  • There are no changes to the way authorised scheme advisers are able to request member information

When we introduce the new form we will also be extending the default validity period of a letter of authority from six months to twelve months. This will reduce the need for you to resend letters on a regular basis. This will be effective for any forms submitted from today's date only and will not apply to any previous instructions you have sent us.

What you need to do

You can download a copy of the new Legal & General letter of authority (PDF: 3MB)  form here. Please use the new form for future requests.

Please read the important information on the form carefully to avoid your request being rejected or information being sent directly to a member. Complete the form in full and ensure it is signed in one of the two boxes in section three of the form. You can attach requests for information when you send it to us.
