A reduction in fuel duty has not stopped more than a quarter of Britons thinking that the latest Budget will leave them with less money, a survey has revealed.
Opinium Research found that 28% of people said they think they will be worse off from the new measures, while only 15% think they will end up with more money.
Around 45% of Labour voters think the changes will leave them out of pocket, compared with 18% of Liberal Democrat supporters and only 11% of Conservative ones.
There appears to be little confidence in the economy following the Chancellor's speech, with 81% saying they either feel the same amount of confidence before, or are now less confident about the economy.
Within the total, 29% said they were now more worried about the economy than they were previously.
Just under half supported the decision to reduce corporation tax and adjust the banking levy, although 34% were unsure about whether this was a good or a bad idea.
Around 66% of people said they thought increasing the personal tax allowance was necessary, but 13% said it was unnecessary and the country could not afford it.
