Important news about our Home Insurance Choices and Simply Home Insurance products

We’ve recently undertaken a review of our home insurance products and wanted to share an update with you.

As you may be aware, we launched our SmartQuote for Intermediaries proposition in the market in 2019. SmartQuote uses information about a client’s property and publicly available data sources to get a home insurance quote in just five questions. It also offers clients our latest home insurance products, Home Insurance and Home Insurance Plus. Due to its speed, ease and simplicity, the majority of our home insurance business is now sold via SmartQuote and remains the product of choice across our Intermediaries.

As a result, we’ve made the decision to switch off our legacy, long question set products (Home Insurance Choices and Simply Home Insurance) for new business on GI Connect from 1 September 2021. All quotes up until 31 August 2021 will continue to be valid for 180 days and you’ll be able to retrieve these from GI Connect.

SmartQuote is now our core proposition for the Intermediary market and we’re continually working on improving our quotability. If you’d like to continue to sell our home insurance products after this date, please make sure you have access to SmartQuote which is available to access via GI Connect.
