Introducing Hero in the Middle

At Legal & General we feel that intermediaries have the power to make the biggest difference to people’s lives.  You go above and beyond to provide clients and their families with the financial protection they need, and we recognise the hero in this protection story is you.

That’s why in January 2019 we launched our first ‘Hero in the Middle' Competition, to show you our support and recognition.

We asked intermediaries to share their stories of where they, or a colleague, had made a difference to someone’s life, to be in with a chance of winning one of 11 prizes.


We had a fantastic response to our first competition, with 55 entries. The Legal & General panel had such a difficult job choosing the winners that the stories went through a number of rounds, with the Top 5  going to a company-wide vote to choose the overall winner, who was Neil Bohan.


Neil Bohan from Personal Touch Kent, was nominated by his client Kelly Ladbrooke who told a heartfelt story of how the advice she received from Neil, after she  was diagnosed with Leukaemia, had meant that her family could focus on caring for her and not worry about paying the bills.


 ‘This was our first competition and it was great to read so many heartfelt stories, they really brought to life the important role advisers play in educating and supporting their clients every day.

I truly believe that intermediaries can make the biggest difference in protecting people financially and our Hero in the Middle competition is one way of us being able to say thank you.
