Shortlisted for two This Can Happen Awards
Recognition is a bit like buses, and we couldn’t be happier.
Vanessa Sallows, our Claims & Governance Director, Group Protection, has been personally shortlisted for a This Can Happen award for Most Inspiring Leader of the Year. And as a company we’ve also been shortlisted for Mental Health Campaign of the Year for our Not a Red Card work.
Many of you will know Vanessa Sallows and have had the pleasure of working with her. Her knowledge and dedication are second to none. Leading our rehabilitation team and managing our expert clinical healthcare partners, she’s at the forefront of implementing our mental health proposition in practice. Developing our proactive early intervention approach, she leads the team that provides the practical day-to-day support for employees.
The support we provide to help employees rehabilitate and return to work is in no small way down to Vanessa’s inspiring leadership, and it’s wonderful news that this has been recognised by This Can Happen.
Similarly, it’s great that all the work we’ve put into our Not a Red Card campaign has been acknowledged too. Having a leading mental health proposition is one thing, but a big part of the success lies in how well it’s communicated. Our Not a Red Card campaign is all about promoting the message, inspiring other companies to implement mental health support in their workplace, and celebrating those that do.
The awards will be announced in the coming months and we’ll be sure to let you know how we do, in the meantime, were enjoying the esteem of being finalists. Talking of which, any other employers that are also doing good work to support the mental wellbeing of their workforce, might like to enter an award of their own.
