Improvements to Rainbow home insurance policy

We’ve updated our Rainbow Home Insurance policy booklet and policy summary to reflect these changes.  If your customer took out a policy with an inception date on or after 1 April 2017, please ensure that they are given the latest versions of our documentation.

What’s changed?

Here’s an overview of the key changes we’ve made:

New - visitors personal effects are now covered up to £300 under Contents.
New - We’ve added ‘loss of keys’ so we now cover loss and theft of keys to £750 under both Buildings and Contents.
Under Contents, we’ve removed the £500 limit on pedal cycles within the home – there’s now no limit.
Under Personal Possessions, we’ve removed the exclusion restricting cover to 60 days worldwide.
We’ve removed the exclusion under Buildings for storm or flood damage to cantilever car-ports, canopies and awnings, and to any felt roof where the felt is more than 10 years old.
To make our policy wording clearer for you and your customers, we’ve also:

Simplified wording wherever possible including section headings e.g. ‘General Exceptions Applying to this Policy’ is now ‘What is not covered’.
Placed all definitions to the front of the policy booklet.
Removed any repetition wherever possible.
Moved monetary limits to within the cover description.
