What happens to my investment if I die?

Your investment doesn’t automatically close – if you’re invested in an ISA, once we receive the original Death Certificate or Coroner’s Report, we’ll remove the ISA wrapper, leaving your investment in the underlying unit trusts or open-ended investment companies.

Your personal representative then has a few options – to learn more about these please call us on 0370 050 0955*

What should I think about before I invest?

  • It’s a good idea to have some instant access savings, in case the unexpected happens - like the car breaking down. Our investment products aren’t instant access.
  • How much you can afford to invest.
  • What level of risk are you willing to take – higher risk investments offer higher potential returns but you could also make a loss.
  • Whether you’d like an income from your investment, paid directly into your bank account, either monthly or quarterly.
  • Whether you’d like to reinvest any income and see your investment grow.
  • Although there is no fixed term you should consider ISA and unit trust investments to be medium to long term, ideally five years or more.
  • Please remember the value of an investment and any income from it may fall as well as rise and is not guaranteed. You may get back less than you invest.
  • Each trust has its own risks detailed in the individual 'Key Investor Information' documents. Before you decide to invest you must read this document.

Why can't I view my pension online after recent changes have been made?

If fund switches or amendments are made to your pension, we'll update your account. This should normally take no longer than five working days. If your account is unavailable for a longer period, please call
