UK’s withdrawal from the EU

As the UK has now left the EU, Legal & General Assurance Society (LGAS) will not be able to continue providing some of the cross-border financial services which it previously provided (known as ‘passporting rights’). However, this change will not impact your policy.

We've outlined some questions you might have below:

We'll continue to service your policy and provide you with the benefits of the policy, which was taken out prior to the UK leaving the EU, including any benefit features such as spouse’s benefit, where applicable.

If you receive payments, from your policy, into a UK bank account (or have not yet retired but plan to receive benefits into a nominated a UK bank account), you should have received a separate letter from us about this in December, as we became aware of reports that some UK banks and building societies intended to close the accounts of customers who lived in the EEA. If you haven’t already done so, we encourage you to review your banking arrangements to ensure we're able to continue to pay you, now that the Brexit Transition has completed.

There is no need to contact us or take action, as your policy terms and conditions are unchanged.

If any of your personal information is incorrect or changes in the future, please notify us immediately.
