Our research, in conjunction with Cebr, the economics consultancy, shows the vital role and generosity the Bank of Mum and Dad (BoMaD) plays in helping children get on, or move up the property ladder. BoMaD has branches everywhere and unsurprisingly the highest proportion in the UK is in London. Two in five (41%) buyers in London received assistance from BoMaD, whilst in the north of England it was one in five.

Bank of Mum and Dad will lend £5.7bn in 2018, purchasing homes worth £81 billion in 2018. The Bank of Mum and Dad will be involved in 27% of all property transactions that take place in the UK market this year.
