I'm going to live abroad and won't return to the United Kingdom. Can I buy an Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance policy?

Legal & General Travel Insurance policies do not cover single direction trips, and do not cover you if you're not a permanent resident in the UK. Trips must begin and end in the United Kingdom.

I'm starting my journey from another country, but returning to the UK after 28 days. Can I buy Legal & General Travel Insurance?

In this instance you will not be able to buy Legal & General Travel Insurance for your trip. Trips must begin and end in the United Kingdom.

Is it safe to purchase Travel Insurance online?

Yes. Whenever we ask for personal information we do this within a secure environment and all details sent from you to the Legal & General website are encrypted. We will not pass on any of your data to third parties or for marketing purposes unless you've given us permission to do so.

I'm British but my partner doesn't have British citizenship, can we purchase a policy to cover us as a couple?

Yes, provided you're both permanently resident in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man and are registered with a doctor and have not spent more than six months abroad during the year before the policy was issued.

I'm under 18 years of age - am I able to purchase this Travel Insurance?

No, policyholders must be at least 18 years of age, but you can be covered under a parent’s or legal guardian’s policy as long as you're travelling with them as part of a family policy.

I'm over 79 - can I take out a policy?

No. Our policies are available for travellers up to and including the age of 79.

How can I pay for the Insurance?

You can buy our Insurance online through our secure payment system or over the telephone using a credit card or debit card.

Does the Travel Insurance cost the same whether I purchase online or by telephone?

You can save up to 20% on single trip policies when you buy online.
Excludes gadget and natural catastrophe cover options. Saving amount may vary depending on medical conditions declared.

Can I amend my policy?

If you need to amend any of your personal details e.g. name, address, telephone number or to inform us of any health issues, you will need to contact us to get an updated policy.

If you need to add people to the policy, increase the cover or add extra options such as winter sports cover, you will need to contact us to get a new policy.
