Member application Form

Your details (to be completed by the applicant)

Your Contributions

I wish to start paying regular voluntary contributions
I wish to increase my existing regular voluntary contributions
How would you like to instruct your contributions?

Please note that the start date cannot be in the past. If a previous date is entered, the update will be made from the next payroll opportunity and will not be backdated.

Please state if you are already subject to the reduced Money purchase Annual Allowance

Please give the statement you received to your local pension authority

The provider of the arrangement(s) you have flexibly accessed is required to provide a statement to you within 31 days of the date flexi-access occurred. Flexibly accessed generally means that you have taken money purchase benefits other than by purchasing an annuity from an insurance company.

Retirement age

The Selected Retirement Age entered here will be used to determine which of the Target date funds you will be invested into from outset. If no Selected Retirement Age is entered, the State Pension Age will be used.

Target Date Funds (TDF’s)

You will be invested into the plan default fund from outset, but you will have the option to change investments after your first contribution has been paid. You can do this by signing up to Manage Your Account (MYA) or by contacting Legal & General.

The default fund chosen for your scheme is the Legal & General Target Date Funds Journey Plan 4 (Cash targeting TDF's). The Target Date Funds offer you a flexible approach to investing your pension savings. They allow you to match your investment strategy to a ‘target date range’, which will normally be aligned to the date at which you currently plan to retire or access your pension savings.

Please note that the five year target range for each fund begins and ends at the start of July. This means, for example, that if your target retirement date is in 2050 you will need to consider whether the 2045-2050 Target Date Fund or the 2050-2055 Target Date Fund is more likely to fit your plans.

For more information on how the Target Date Funds work, take a look at our Guide to the Target Date FundsOpens in new tab.

Below are the fund factsheets for the cash targeted TDF’s which are the defaults for this scheme:

Declaration

Important: Please remember that it is a serious offence to make false statements; the penalties are severe and could lead to prosecution.

I authorise the Trustees and/or their administrators (who are currently Legal & General), to invest my voluntary contributions directly into my pension pot, as per the instruction made within this application.

I confirm that:

  • In this tax year I am resident in the UK or am a Crown servant or the husband, wife or registered civil partner of a Crown servant.
  • The total gross amounts which I pay to all Registered Pension Schemes in a tax year to which I am entitled to tax relief (under Section 188 of the Finance Act 2004) will not exceed the higher of the basic amount (currently £3,600) and my Relevant UK earnings in that year.
  • The information I have given and declarations I have made in this application are, to the best of my knowledge and belief, correct and complete.

I also agree this will form the basis of my application.

  • I agree to tell you in writing if an event occurs which results in me no longer being eligible for tax relief on the amounts I pay in by 5 April in the tax year in which the event occurs or, if later, within 30 days of the event.

If I am or my employer is paying into this plan, some of the details in the application will be the basis on which tax relief will be allowed.

It is a serious offence to make false statements. The penalties are severe and could lead to prosecution.

Legal & General will check my details with fraud prevention agencies. If false or inaccurate information is provided and fraud is identified details will be passed to fraud prevention agencies.
