You can choose how your pension savings are invested by logging in to Manage my account and selecting from the available funds.
To help you get started, BA, with the support of an independent investment advisor, has selected a core range of funds.
These offer a mix of asset types and risk levels, giving you access to different markets and investment styles. This selection is designed to guide you, but this is not a recommendation—neither from your employer nor from Legal & General.
Asset types refer to the kinds of things your money can be invested in. These might include:
- Shares (equities): a share in the value of companies which can offer growth, but may be more volatile than other asset classes.
- Bonds (fixed interest): loans to governments or companies which can be repaid on a specified future date. These are typically more stable than shares, but have lower potential returns. If interest rates or inflation levels are changing a lot, the value of a bond can move around more than usual (up or down).
- Property: investments in commercial buildings or real estate.
- Cash: typically, lower risk investments, meaning the value is less likely to fall. However, cash offers limited potential for growth and may not keep pace with inflation – the rate at which the cost of everyday goods and services rise over time.
- Private market: investment into the private market is when you invest into a company or project that isn’t available on the stock market. These can include investments into things like new businesses, property developments, private equity, or infrastructure. Because they aren’t publicly traded, they can be harder to buy or sell quickly. They often require a long-term commitment, can be more volatile, and their value depends on the performance of the underlying assets.
- Multi-assets: a combination of the above, aiming to balance risk and reward.
Fund specific risks
In the table of funds, there are one or more numbers listed against each fund. Each number relates to a risk associated with that fund, and there is a description of these further down the page.
Charges
Each fund has a fund management charge (FMC), which is made up of the investment management charge (IMC) plus additional expenses (AE). Please note, AE can vary throughout the year.
Core funds range
It’s important to think about what’s right for your own circumstances before making any decisions. You’ll find the core range listed below, and they’re marked with a star when you view the list in your online account. You’re free to choose any fund available, not just those in the core range.
Each fund has a risk rating from one to seven based on how much its value has moved over the past few years.
- 1 = Very low risk (more stable, fewer big changes)
- 7 = Very high risk (more ups and downs, with greater potential for gains and losses)
These ratings are based on up to 5 years of past performance. They are a useful way to compare funds, but they don’t guarantee how a fund will perform in the future.
To find out more about each fund (including performance, risks and charges) click on the fund name. You can also click on each column header to help you group investment funds together e.g. by ABI sector.
Please note the data in this table was last updated on14 November 2025
Before making any investment decisions, it’s important to understand the risks. Our guide to risk and reward can help to explain things further.
If you’d like to make your own investment choices, but feel unsure, we recommend speaking to a financial adviser. You can find one through MoneyHelper. Just keep in mind that advisers usually charge for their services.
