De-risking journeys of mid-sized pension schemes
Our comprehensive report features expert commentary from across the industry including pension scheme advisers, trustees, and Legal & General's Pension Risk Transfer and Investment Management teams.
We commissioned Engaged Investor to survey more than 40 of the UK's mid-sized pension schemes with total assets of between £100 million and £1 billion about their long term de-risking objectives and the strategies they are using to reach them.
The results of the survey show that:
- Over half (54%) of schemes plan to incorporate insurance solutions into their long-term de-risking strategy
- More than a third of schemes (34%) were aiming for a full buyout as their primary long-term objective
- Over half of the schemes surveyed had already begun implementing their LDI (Liability Driven Investment) strategies
