Free Life Cover

You can arrange life insurance before you exchange contracts or complete your property purchase. If you take out our Life Insurance or Decreasing Life Insurance, Free Life Cover can provide protection between exchange and completion, subject to eligibility.

When you apply for our Life Insurance or Decreasing Life Insurance, Free Life Cover is included at no extra cost if you're moving home.

Free Life Cover provides cover for up to 90 days.

The amount of cover will be your chosen sum assured, the amount of your loan or £300,000, whichever is lowest.

If you make a successful claim, we'll only pay out once under either Accidental Death Benefit, Free Life Cover or your Life Insurance or Decreasing Life Insurance itself. We won't provide cover if you have another policy with any provider covering the same mortgage.

To be eligible for Free Life Cover, the following conditions must apply:

• you're under 55 when you take out the mortgage. For joint policies, you must both be under 55
  
  
• you've been accepted on standard terms
  
  
• the exchange of contracts, or conclusion of missives, has taken place
  
  
• no other policies for the same mortgage can be in force or applied for
  
  
• you must tell us if there are any changes before completion.
