Conditions of Self-Nomination
Lender categories – Lenders must provide a short profile for each category they are self-nominating for (no more than 200 words per category). Lenders must also check the declaration provided to confirm they are a member of the L&G Mortgage Club lender panel.
All lender firms who enter either the Best Smaller, Medium or Larger Lender categories must enter the correct category based on the volume of lending they have put through the Legal & General Mortgage Club in 2025, NOT their total lending volume across the whole market. If you have any queries regarding your total volume of lending though L&G Mortgage Club across 2025, please contact your account manager within the Mortgage Club's lender team.
Broker categories – Brokers must provide a short profile for each category they are self-nominating for (no more than 200 words per category). There are also 2 declarations that Brokers must check to confirm they are:
a) a member of the Legal & General Mortgage Club, and
b) that they have put through £20 million in mortgage lending via L&G Mortgage Club during 2025 (if you do not know this figure, please contact your Relationship Manager in L&G Mortgage Club’s broker team)
Please note that if your broker firm lends through L&G Mortgage Club via multiple entities that exceed the minimum lending threshold, then please email richard1.thomas@landg.com to advise of this so that we can verify your lending total across them all.
Brokers – The Mortgage Club reserves the right to remove any firms from the entry process who we believe do not meet the mandatory criteria outlined in the self-nomination stage.
Any broker firms who do not meet the criteria will be informed that they are ineligible to proceed any further. Brokers will have a short window of opportunity to appeal any ineligibility.
Lenders - The Mortgage Club reserves the right to remove a lender from a particular category they have self-nominated themselves for, if we believe they do not write business in that lending area through Legal & General.
Any lenders who are being removed from a particular category will be informed that they are ineligible to proceed any further. Lenders will have a short window of opportunity to appeal any ineligibility.
Those firms who successfully make it through the verification process will then be included in the usual industry voting process whereby brokers & lenders vote for those firms they wish to recognise in each category.
The surveys will go live at 10.00am on Monday 9th February and will close at 5.00pm on Friday 27th February.
As in previous years, the finalists for each category will be unveiled via a video announcement on the Mortgage Solutions website. This year’s finalists will be announced on Friday 20th March.
All the finalists across both the broker and lender categories will then be invited to provide a more detailed submission on why they believe they should win the award. Specific guidance for the submissions will be provided to the finalists by email following the announcement. The deadline for submissions to be received is Friday 10th April.
All finalist submissions will be judged by panels made up of representatives from the L&G Mortgage Club alongside industry experts and peers. We will invite representatives from Lender firms to judge the broker awards, and vice-versa. The judging will take place across the week commending Monday 27th April.
The winners will be announced live at our 2026 awards ceremony, which will take place on Friday 5th June at The Guildhall, London.
