What's new?

Extended our quote validity period from 90 days to 120 days, giving your clients extra breathing space for important applications. This provides customers with greater certainty for a longer period, which is particularly beneficial given the increasing time to complete a mortgage.

Added flexibility giving your clients more control.

This allows customers the option to decline increasing cover up to three consecutive times before the benefit is removed; currently when the benefit is declined once, the benefit is removed.

This change:

  • Helps safeguard against the impacts of inflation and provides more flexibility
  • Ensures the cover continues to meet the long-term customer needs

Critical Illness Extra: Improved pay-out amounts for additional payments from the lower of 50%/£35k to 100%/£35k

Children's Critical Illness Extra: Improved pay-out amounts for the lower of 50%/£40k to 100%/£40k. Improved pay-out amounts for Children's Terminal Illness Cover from the lower of 50%/£40k to 100%/£40k.

Plus, four new conditions added to Children's Critical Illness Extra: Edwards' syndrome, Osteogenesis imperfecta, Patau syndrome and Surgical repair of an atrial or ventricular septal defect.

Improved benefits at claim, now clients can receive the full benefit if the income difference is less than 10% at the time of claim.

This new process helps if the difference between the settled amount and the policy monthly benefit is under 10%, the monthly benefit will remain unchanged. If it's over 10%, the monthly benefit will be limited to the amount calculated at claim.

This change does not affect our Income Guarantee, which ensures monthly benefits for customers earning less than their application income:

  • Employed / Self-employed: £1,500
  • NHS Workers: £3,000
