Advice Director
Financial Advice

Gareth leads the advice teams that help our customers with protection, later-life mortgages and retirement planning. He makes sure they receive clear, trusted financial advice that delivers real value for them and meets all regulatory standards too.

Throughout his career, Gareth’s been driven by a strong need to put good customer outcomes first. He joined us in 2019 as our Financial Advice business’ Head of Direct Channels, before starting a five-year stint as its Ops Director in 2020. That followed just over 15 years with the Co-Operative Bank. While there he served in a range of senior mortgage, protection and advice-related roles.

Gareth went straight to the Co-Op after completing an Accounting and Finance BA at Manchester Metropolitan University. He was the first person in his family to go down the university route. More recently, he’s also achieved PRINCE2 Practitioner and Foundation qualification and a Diploma in Retail Banking Conduct of Business.

When he’s not helping us achieve better outcomes for our customers, he’s a keen supporter of Rugby League team Wigan Warriors. As well as watching sport, he tries to keep fit himself. And he’s a keen gig goer, with Oasis’ reunion tour being a particular recent highlight.
