What you'll need

We will need the following details so it would be helpful to have the information to hand:

  • A payment number
  • National Insurance number
  • Full name, date of birth, address and date of the person's death to update the correct policy
  • The name and address of the surviving spouse/representative so that we can send documentation to the right address

At Legal & General, we understand that the death of someone close to you can be a very difficult time.  Everyone experiences grief differently and in addition to the strong emotions you can experience after a bereavement, you may also have worries about practical issues.

We’re here to help by making things as simple as we can. If someone close to you dies and they had a lifetime mortgage with us, please call 03330 048444. Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm. We may record and monitor calls.   • National Insurance Number
  • Full name, date of birth, address and date of the person's death to update the correct scheme
  • Details of any surviving spouse, dependents or beneficiaries as well as any other representative details so that we can send documentation to the right address
  • Death certificate

This form may take up to 20 mins  to complete but replaces the paper form that we would need to send out for completion. By completing this form online the processing time could be reduced and should be quicker than the standard paper based journey.'
